The whole book - Leading in a Culture of Change - answers that question. It means getting in touch with the big picture re moral purpose, relationship building, coherence -making etc. A good new book on the complexities of leadership is: Ron Heifetz and Linsky-Leadership on the Line. (Harvard Businees books-2002)
